Sing the Real: The Public Art of Ramiro Gomez

Los Angeles based street artist Ramiro Gomez is giving an illustrated lecture about his art at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Prior to the lecture Ramiro will be interviewed by Professor George Lipsitz. The interview will be recorded and catalogged in the ImaginArte projects' California Ethnic and Multicultural Archives, which is a division of the Special Collections department at UCSB. The interview is set to start at 3pm.

This is a very cool honor for any artist, and yet another great example of how street art is gaining a foothold in the mainstream world.

It should be a great lecture, as Ramiro's art really pushes for social awareness and change, and by focusing on domestic laborers, it hits close to home.

All are welcome to this event. Full details can be found on the flier.
